This is a real easy one.

Only the world’s most monumental corporate stooge would try to deny that carbon emissions and fossil fuels are causing horrendous damage to the atmosphere.

Our most promising future lies in the use of helium and hydrogen to power all manner of engines including the holy grail – cold fusion.

Unfortunately helium is one of the rarest gases on earth and ‘pound for pound’ is worth a lot more than gold.

 

That’s not a problem for us here at Globasyst though.

Enter the biggest planet in our solar system – Jupiter.

800 times the mass of earth it is predominantly hydrogen and helium mixed with an array of other gases. Once we get the Space elevator up shuttling to and from Jupiter will not be a major problem.

All we then have to do is park another orbital or two over this monster and drop down a few hoses. We then start sucking and sit back. Energy crisis solved.

What could be simpler?

Environmental Destruction

You don’t need to go far to see evidence of the havoc man’s existence has wrought on the environment.

Humanity has been compared with the attributes of a virus in that we are causing the death of our host which will in turn spell our demise.

But at Globasyst, we disagree with this sentiment.

A virus does not have the ability to construct an entirely NEW host that is suited to its survival needs.

We do.

Once you’ve had a bit of a look around our site you will discover how we intend to achieve this.

Initially the habitats we create beyond earth will be basic. One day however, as technologies advance and our understanding of the laws that bind the universe increase, habitats such as ringworlds become a possibility.

The scale and dimension of such worlds will only be limited by the material available to us.

By this stage we will be able to travel to the edges of our solar system and beyond .

Astronomers have already begun to identify the building blocks for such projects in the Outer Solar System or OORT Cloud.

A giant shell of icy bodies known as the Oort Cloud, named after astronomer Jan Oort,  is thought to encircle the solar system. There may be billions, even trillions of bodies in it, and some are so large they count as dwarf planets. When the cloud’s inhabitants interact with passing stars, molecular clouds, and gravity from the galaxy, they may find themselves spiraling inward toward the sun, or cast completely out of the solar system into distant regions of space. Although this shell was first proposed in 1950, its extreme distance makes it challenging for scientists to identify objects within it.

At Globasyst we intend to find out for certain. We only hope we can get the support we need to move this project along fast enough to be able to provide homes for what is left of our precious wildlife.

Habitats of Life and Style

Problem: Not enough food, water or houses.

At present in Australia we are facing a major food production crisis.

Simply google ‘Australia Drought’ and you will find more stories relating to the crisis than you could imagine. but weather anomalies are not restricted to Australia.

All over the world there are stories of decimated insect populations, drought, flood, virus outbreaks and so much more. Almost all of these issues can be traced back to desperate farming methods pumping billions of liters of fertilizer and pesticides into already ravaged soils in an attempt to maximise productivity.

Add to this the harmful effects of gene-tech and more and the outlook is pretty grim.

But there’s good news.

As soon as the first Space Elevator is up we will be able to begin targeting appropriate asteroids in order to shift them closer to Earth’s orbit for mining.

In the course of extracting the mineral wealth from these asteroids we will be laying the foundation for space habitats that orbit in a similar trajectory to earth. The environments inside can be custom built to house almost any climate and with the right chemicals, bacteria, minerals and bugs, we can begin growing food and livestock across acreage that has never existed before.

As more of these habitats are built we can begin to shift our activities off planet. This will give wild environments a chance to regenerate and rebuild.

Between now and the time we achieve this we expect to see several dozen species go extinct.

If we don’t act to end the suffering today, our children will grow up in a world where there is nothing but suffering.

What your membership means to us.

Globasyst is about harnessing the will of people at every level.

At the most basic level, however, is the relationship between the number of current, active members and the amount of staff we can afford to employ.

In the development phase it is all about increasing membership so we can begin to recruit the necessary planning and project management experts.

Once we have begun to fill these roles we will be able to workout far more detailed figures as to what it will take to reach each milestone.

For now we are working with the following base calculation:
 
1,000 members = $120,000pa
$120K = 2 x $50k salaries +
$20k operational expenses.

Of course this does not take into account people who are kind enough to donate their time and energy for free, but given that it took 400,000 staff to get 12 guys on the moon, developing our membership base is a massive priority.

To help you work out what that means in terms of membership, to maintain 400k staff will need 200,000,000 members.

This is why so much of our initial energy will be devoted to PR and promotion. You can help us a LOT in this phase simply by sharing as much as you possibly can about us with as many people as you can.

Every share is another rock moved to help shift the mountain.

The Globasyst Core Constitution

The Globasyst Initiative relies on a fragile foundation of hope and trust. The primary consideration of every action we take will be the protection of this foundation.

At a time when government and corporate entities are being shown time and time again to be vulnerable to corruption, hope and trust are the two commodities which need to be handled and protected with our every thought, deed and action.

Before we can look at creating financial memberships we must first of all be able to provide our members with a clear mandate of what this project stands for in terms of our goals and obligations, rights and responsibilities. This is the point where the DNA for the Globasyst seed must be carefully crafted with a vision to the future and what it means to us all.

There will be many areas of the governance of our project which members will be able to vote on including our structure and the approach we take to solving the various challenges we will face along the way. Our Core Constitutional values, however, cannot be subject to change as they will serve as the rudder to guide us along our journey to the ultimate goal in creating humanities’ bridge to space.

Core Constitutional Directives

  1. The primary directive for Globasyst and its members is the creation and maintenance of an ecologically sustainable pathway for humanity between the Earth, Earth’s orbit and the universe beyond.

  2. Each member of Globasyst will be entitled to one vote when issues arise which require consensus in order to formulate the policies which will facilitate the fulfillment of the primary objective.

  3. Globasyst reserves the right to suspend or cancel the membership as well as any benefits or financial standing of any member who is judged to have acted in breach of the laws and by-laws as set down within the Globasyst charter or constitution.

  4. At no stage will Globasyst or its employees ever engage financing or loans of any kind from an external third party for any purpose in relation to achieving the primary objective. All operational expenses and purchasing of equipment or property will be financed from revenue raised via the membership process or other revenue streams generated in the course of Globasyst’s development.

Between now and the point in time when we create the legal Globasyst entity and begin to offer financial memberships these constitutional elements will be discussed and amended so please refer back here frequently. We would encourage you to leave comments and suggestions below. We will consider all serious submissions.

Collision Protection

Getting the elevator built is one enourmous challenge but once its up there we don’t want it getting blown out of the sky.

There are currently thousands of pieces of debris orbiting the earth from the fingernail sized chips of paint which cracked the shatter-proof glass of the space shuttle to objects weighing tens if not hundreds of kilos.

These objects are orbiting the earth at speeds in excess of 28,000kmh. A 50calibre bullet has an initial velocity of just over 3,000kmh.

This means that relative to the space bridge, any object in low earth orbit will impact with nearly ten times the force of a 50 cal bullet. The effects of such an impact on the space bridge’s tether, or indeed the orbital platform itself would be devastating.

To address this issue the project will need to build a substantial protection network as well as looking at a way to clean up our near earth orbital zone and minimise this threat.

There are currently a number of proposals in the scientific community which address this issue and we will put together a team whose goal is to design the appropriate measures.

The Orbital Space Station

Easily the most expensive aspect of this operation will be the creation of the Geosynchronous Orbiting Space Station (GOSS).

This is the top floor of the elevator and will effectively be the weightless mooring from which the construction of the entire network will begin. It would be almost impossible to build the elevator’s tether from the ground up. The only practical way to construct it is to build it in orbit and feed it back down toward the Earth’s surface.

There are two ways to build the GOSS.

The first is relatively simple. We just ship everything necessary up on the back of rockets. Easy as this sounds we’re talking potentially thousands of tons of mass in order to achieve this and the base ratio for fuel to mass in order to achieve orbit is 10:1.

That means for every ton of equipment & people to be lifted we need to burn 10 tonnes of fossil fuels.

This might be technically doable but the environmental cost will need to be considered very carefully and it’s highly likely that it will not be worth the risk.

The second option is to identify a suitable candidate in the asteroid belt and attach a propulsion unit to it. We can then nudge the asteroid back towards our planet and park it the necessary orbit above our Earth Base.

This is technically a more difficult proposition but the bulk of the operation would be done remotely using robotics and the payoff would be potentially enormous.

The asteroid we use would be selected based on the materials it contains and how useful they would be in constructing the space station and tether. By doing this we would shortcut our way to having the ingredients necessary right where we need them – already in orbit.

This whole aspect of the project is for the big brains and we need to get them on board first.

Earthside Base

The Earthside Base will be ground floor for our space elevator.

The location will need to be on or near the equator in order to use the earth’s rotation to follow the Space Station’s geosynchronous orbit around 50,000kms or more above us.

There is a chance such a base could be built on land but it’s important to remember, the Space Station above is not locked to a static location.

The most promising location for our Earth Base will actually be out in the ocean. This will give the Earth Base the option to shift position, to some degree, and there are any number of reasons to do that including bad weather or collision. Mobility could come in real handy.

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

It will take an enormous amount of material to create this floating platform but we have a pretty innovative solution for that issue. Ever since it was first created, plastic has been finding its way into our oceans from all around the world.

Over time this plastic has collected in five major zones across all our oceans. Most of it, however, has collected in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean in a huge plastic ‘slick’ referred to as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Essentially the Pacific Patch alone is around the same size as Australia and contains what is estimated to be a mass of several hundred million tonnes.

What we are proposing is simple. We fit out ships specifically to net and collect this plastic. Once they bring it aboard, it gets placed in a furnace and melted down.

As it cools, bubbles of gas are blown into it to give it buoyancy. Then it is extruded and 3 meter square cubes. These cubes are then inserted into modular frames that form the foundations for our floating Earthside Base islands.

Simple, right?

There are certainly other ways to create an Earthside Base but with this method we’re finding a use for all the plastic crap that is currently choking the life out of our most important resource – the ocean.

Let’s not forget, more than 80% of the oxygen we breather comes from the ocean. Surely it would be a positive move to try and clean it up.

Teleportation & Wormholes

First up – Teleportation.

This entire project would be a hell of a lot easier if we could just get Scotty to beam us all up. Unfortunately that’s a fair way off in the future but there have been developments recently.

Phys.org as reported how complex quantum teleportation has been achieved for the first time. At this point the most practical potential application for this discovery is in the field of computing.

In order to even begin to consider teleportation of high mass, complex organisms in the way Hollywood has portrayed it to date, we first of all need to be able to precisely scan the original object down to its quantum atomic state.

If you have ever seen things like MRI images or the like you can see that we are a long way off from this sort of detail.

Next – Wormholes.

Once again, science fiction and Hollywood have supercharged our imaginations with wormholes.

In Marvel’s Avenger series they would have us believe that beings are zipping around the universe at will. Unfortunately the reality is quite a bit different but in a recent article from livescience.com, they claim that physicists have released a step-by-step guide for building a wormhole.

Excellent.

All you need are a couple of black holes and some cosmic strings. HAH.

Well its a bit more complex than that but it is possible. To find out more click the link below and check out the article.

In terms of the application of wormholes to solve our ‘access to space’ issue, they’re not really a viable solution just yet. After all, its probably best we don’t start creating black holes on, or indeed, any where near our fragile little planet right at the moment.

Charity Funded Memberships

While we cannot rely on government grants or personal and business generated charity, that does not mean we will not welcome it if, by chance, it is offered.

If such donations are made to Globasyst we will use them to generate Charitable Memberships for those people who are unable to access the initiative.

For example only half the world has access to the internet. That same half of the world is also far and away the most financially challenged.

It will be a significant aspect of the Globasyst charter to ensure that as many of these people as possible are offered charity funded Lifetime Memberships in the Globasyst initiative.

Once we begin to generate the necessary budget levels, Globasyst will put together a team to manage this aspect of the program. Their sole purpose will be to investigate various methods to identify and approach those people facing the greatest challenges on our planet in terms of living from one day to the next.

After all many of those people are already trying to come to terms with living in a collapsing ecology. That’s why they are starving and homeless in the first place.
